I have an "ATI Mobility Radeon X1600" (ChipID = 0x71c5). It has four outputs,
VGA-1, LVDS-1, HDMI-A-1, and SVIDEO-1.
I'm running 2.6.37 final (Ubuntu 2.6.37-12.26) and the Ubuntu xorg edgers
1:6.13.99+git20110110.0e432dff-0ubuntu0sarvatt version of
xserver-xorg-video-ati. I'm pretty sure this has something to do with a display
being plugged into VGA-1 as well.

Summary: flickering with KMS in Baldur's Gate II under wine
Product: DRI
Version: XOrg CVS
Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: DRM/Radeon
AssignedTo: dri-devel(a)lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: kirillkh(a)gmail.com
I'm using Kubuntu 10.04.1 with 2.6.35-19-generic kernel and radeon driver
labeled "1:6.13.99+git20100907.b90cb61c-0ubuntu0sarvatt~lucid" from the edgers
repository. The video card is HD3870.
When running with KMS, I'm seeing flickering in Baldur's Gate Tutu (which is
based on Baldur's Gate II engine, so the bug is probably also present there),
where small random rectangles flash brightly for a fraction of second and then
dim again. The issue is apparent even when I don't do anything, but when I move
the mouse cursor around, it becomes worse, and the mouse cursor disappears from
time to time when moved.
Tested wine-1.3.2 and wine-1.1.44, the issue occurs in both. I do not use
compositing. The game is configured to use 3D acceleration (it won't run
otherwise).
The issue doesn't occur with KMS disabled.

Summary: TV-out issues
Product: DRI

Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Linux (All)

Severity: normal

ReportedBy: peter(a)peter-server.homelinux.net
I have some issues with the tv-out of an HD2600XT (RV630)
I tried Ubuntu 9.04 with xorg-edgers and a .33 and .34 kernel.
I also tried a 10.04 stock live cd. Results were exactly the same.
I'm trying to use an 7" portable dvd-player (a ViewFun MP-72. It is also sold
as Mustek, and the same chipset is found in other dvd-players as well) as a 2nd
monitor. It worked with fglrx...
I also have an 19" LCD monitor connected with a DVI-VGA adapter.
I can boot the machine in two ways. With and without the dvd player connected.
Without the player connected everything works fine. The login screen and
desktop work at 1440*900 and there's proper acceleration. Everithing works as
it should. Kudo's to whoever did make this happen! (ati/amd employers excluded)
Finally! (I own this card since sept. 2007, and I never had proper drivers
until now...)
But I could also pulg in the dvd player. I can see the bios messages and grub
menu on both screens. I might even see (part of) usplash. Then the dvd player
turns blue, like it is recieving no signal. The main monitor displays the login
screen at a distorted 1024*768.
When I login my monitor switches to 1440*900, but it shows an out-of-range
error. The image looks a bit noisy, and the refresh rate looks low, like 25Hz.
Especially mouse movement is not fluid.
Strory continus tomorrow, with drm.debug and xrandr output...

Summary: radeon KMS causes corrupt VGA output on X1400
Product: DRI
Version: unspecified
Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: DRM/Radeon
AssignedTo: dri-devel(a)lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: sastraxi(a)gmail.com
(note first that this is connected to an Ubuntu bug report; take a look for
some potentially-helpful logs:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/562138)
Booting up the latest 10.04 daily live-cd of Ubuntu, the VGA output is
unusable. It looks like an incorrect frequency, and the screen size is wrong
(it's too narrow for the resolution). The wavering/out-of-phase-ness is so bad
that it's impossible to read. This happens on both the X console and X11, and
goes away when I use the internal laptop LCD instead (LVDS). If I use both
screens in a mirror or extend mode, the same problems occur. So, this led me to
believe that the problem might be with Kernel Mode Setting (KMS).
I added the options:
"radeon.modeset=0 vga=771"
to the livecd and, voila, no more corruption. Everything works again, and I can
use my big LCD via VGA!
I've attached as much information as I can; I can also show a video of the
corruption. I had Ubuntu 8.10 on my computer previously; it's a Dell Inspiron
6400 with Mobility X1400 graphics from ati. I'm using the April 13th Daily
LiveCD here, but the corruption was evident at least with the latest Beta
livecd.
Let me know if I can give any more information!

Hardware is matrox g550 agp dual head, 32 MB.
Well, running silent hill 2 in wine, I have cyan blood when it should be red!
Here you can read the (closed) bug:

(there are a lot of details about the bug)
I thought it was due to wine but it isn't, so it was closed as invalid.
Please note, this `bug' appears since a couple of years ago and even now, with
mesa 7.7.1.

in time of bug #30684 r600g were giving poor performance with "lion" demo
(about ~30 fps on my system) but not long ago i've noticed big, x10 time
speedup (up to ~350 fps). however, it was not for long: with
783e7caadf945f176cb297b8791769e2855fc9ef revision launching "lion" demo on my
system results in
1) video system freeze
2) 100% CPU time usage on all cores and total system freeze up if i not act
quickly and not kill demo process via ssh fast
if killed in time - all goes back to normal, in exception of
launching gles1gears demo right after which results in same behaviour.
however, repeated launch of gles1gears results in working demo but with some
artefacts.
third launch is all ok.
i'm pretty sure that regression was introduced in r600g in last 48 ~hours (same
revision but with r300g work ok) but i haven't done bisect.
