Summary: starting Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (in wine) causes
kernel freeze
Product: DRI
Version: DRI CVS
Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: DRM/Radeon
AssignedTo: dri-devel(a)lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: mike.kaplinskiy(a)gmail.com

dmesg from the freeze
Once the game gets to the menu screen (after intros) it shows a white screen
(as expected, but for too long). After a few seconds the white screen goes
away, the fan stops, the monitor goes into standby, and the whole os is
unresponsive (no sysrq keys). Rebooting shows no sign that the kernel even
knows anything happened (in dmesg, etc).
This only occurs if you use wine with glsl=enabled. glsl=disabled shows a
semi-corrupt menu which you can exit without killing your system.
I'm on kernel 2.6.39-rc2 (built with NMI) and mesa git from 2011/04/08
(xorg-edgers ppa). The card is a Barts chip (6870), and glxinfo shows I'm using
r600g. Wine is version 1.3.17.
If it matters, the NMI never comes. The kernel is built with
CONFIG_FB_RADEON_DEBUG=y , but it's still rather quiet around the crash.

Summary: Displaying across 3 monitors with max resolution
causes one monitor to enter power-saving mode (HD6870)
Product: DRI
Version: unspecified
Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: DRM/Radeon
AssignedTo: dri-devel(a)lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: woogie(a)gmail.com
Using arandr, or KDE's RandR manager, I'm trying to adjust my display to
stretch across 3 monitors. One of the monitors enters power-saving mode when I
try this. Monitors are, from left to right:
DVI-1 (1680x1050 LCD)
DisplayPort-1 (1920x1080 LCD)
DVI-0 (1680x1050 LCD)
Configuring a desktop with all monitors set to their maximum resolution causes
one of the two DVI-connected monitors to enter power-saving mode. The mouse
cursor will still "disappear" into this monitor as if it were enabled. No error
messages appear in either X.org.log or dmesg. It is non-deterministic as to
which monitor turns off of the two DVI-connected monitors.
I can configure a desktop with, for example, 1280x1024, 1920x1080, 1280x1024
for resolutions (left to right) and all three monitors will function properly.
I cannot use 1680x1050, 1280x1024, 1680x1050, as one of the DVI monitors will
enter power saving mode.
I have tested, and this hardware configuration will function with the
proprietary fglrx driver, and under Windows, so the card/monitors do not appear
at fault.
I have tried the 2.6.38 release candidate kernels, and this feature has never
functioned correctly, so I don't think it's a regression.
HARDWARE:
PowerColor HD6870
AMD 1075T
12Gb RAM
Asus M4A89/GTD-PRO USB3
DVI-1: LG Flatron W2242TQ
DisplayPort-1: Dell UV22H
DVI-0: ASUS (unknown)
OS:
ArchLinux, 64-bit with:
Kernel26, 2.6.38.2-1
xf86-video-ati 6.14.1-1
xorg-server 1.10.0.901-1
libdrm 2.4.24-1
ati-dri 7.10.1-1
Please let me know if I can provide any additional details. I am willing to
apply patches to the kernel or other packages as needed to test.

Summary: BUG at ttm_bo.c:272! (ttm_bo_ref_bug ->

Product: DRI
Version: XOrg CVS
Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)

Severity: normal

AssignedTo: dri-devel(a)lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: freedesktop(a)treblig.org
Hi,
I've got a repeatable oops that happens when viewing full screen video in
flash in chromium, under kwin (with effects enabled) and switching virtual
desktop/workspace on ATI Technologies Inc RV710 [Radeon HD 4350].
Hardware: ATI Technologies Inc RV710 [Radeon HD 4350] in an ASRock P55M Pro
motherboard, with an i7-860 CPU, and 8GB RAM, connected to Dell S2409W display
via DVI.
OS: Ubuntu Natty upto date as of today, 64bit install, running KDE.
Kernel: Daily build from DRM next from
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-next/current/
linux-image-2.6.38-996-generic_2.6.38-996.201103041138_amd64.deb claims to be
commit e73f88af66fcc50083fae4b7e1c39b469179a97a
DRM/mesa/etc:
ii libdrm-radeon1 2.4.23-1ubuntu3
ii libdrm2 2.4.23-1ubuntu3
ii libgl1-mesa-dri 7.10.1~git20110215.cc1636b6-0
I've got a 3x3 virtual desktop setup, and am running Chromium and go to youtube
and pop a video full screen; and move around the virtual desktop with
ctrl-alt-arrows. The oops below was produced twice. I've got a bunch of
related symptoms; I installed the daily build because I was getting instances
of [drm:radeon_cs_ioctl] *ERROR* Failed to parse relocation -35! (which I think
is EDEADLOCK) doing similar combinations of going in and out of full screen
flash.
I've also seen when I try to go into full screen rapid flickering as if it
can't decide whether to go into full screen or stay out; once that's triggered
that flickering can repeat itself when starting other apps.
This corresponds to Ubuntu bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/717870
and possibly also ubuntu bug 717889

Summary: Mesa-Gallium with R600 - Framerate limited to 60 fps

Hello,
I past I thought this is a bug of IOQuake3, but during switching between
Mesa-Classic and Mesa-Gallium I recognized, that the problem only exists with
Mesa-Gallium!
Reproduce:
1. $export vblank_mode=0 // switching of vsync
2. Launch an IOQuake3 based game (Quake3 Arena, OpenArena, World of Padman...)
3. check that VSYNC in IOQuake3 is also disabled!
4. Start a game and set "cg_drawpfs 1", know you should have at the top right
corner a display with your current framerate which is hopefully over 60 fps
5. switch to a tty during playing (should be no problem with
Kernel-Mode-Setting)
6. #pm-suspend (as root)
7. resume from suspend
8. switch back to X11/IOQuake3 -> framerate is limited to 60 fps
To fix this you have to relaunch IOQuake3 or simply type into quake-console
"vid_restart".
With Mesa-Classic and the R600-Driver this is not necessary, it displays always
the maximum possible framerate.
Maybe Gallium doesn't read or forget the environment-variable export_vblank
during resume from suspend?

kernel log
The computer often locks itself, the panel suddenly loses the image (it
sometimes blooms, or get filled with a solid color or a pattern of vertical
white and grey stripes). I don't know how to trigger the bug, it can happen
anytime, even with an idle system.
It has happened to me since I started using KMS, it was stable both with
radeonHD and radeon drivers in UMS mode. The frequency of the problem has
varied a lot; with the first KMS versions it happened a lot, then it seemed to
be fixed with some kernel versions, but reappeared with others... As the
problem is random, it can happen after a few minutes of uptime, or after some
hours, or not happen at all.
At first, I thougth the kernel was completely dead, but I recently found out
that I can use SysRq+S and SysRq+T to get some logs. If I try to reboot with
SysRq+B the system locks fully and doesn't react to anything, I always have to
do a hard reboot.
I'll attach lspci, one X log and three differen kernel logs.
