Summary: broken minimap on 0ad alpha5
Product: Mesa
Version: git
Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Drivers/Gallium/r300
AssignedTo: dri-devel(a)lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: fabio.ped(a)libero.it
After this recent commit of the 0ad game (which will be available in the
upcoming alpha5 release):
http://trac.wildfiregames.com/changeset/9139
the game minimap on r300g is broken and it looks like this:
http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/3881/0adbrokenminimap.png
This is especially noticeable with circular minimaps, e.g. on Death Canyon map:
0ad -quickstart -autostart='Death Canyon'
The developer thinks that the 0ad commit is fine, and indeed with other drivers
(I tested r300c, llvmpipe and swrast) the minimap is OK.
I reproduced this bug with current master, 7.10 and 7.9 mesa branches.
The 0ad report is here: http://trac.wildfiregames.com/ticket/803

Summary: setting graphics mode for text console with video=
instead of vga= does not work
Product: Drivers
Version: 2.5
Kernel Version: 2.6.38-0.0.7
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Tree: Mainline
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P1
Component: Video(DRI - non Intel)
AssignedTo: drivers_video-dri(a)kernel-bugs.osdl.org
ReportedBy: estellnb(a)gmail.com
Regression: No
I have stated "video=1920x1200-24@60" on my kernel command line. Instead it
initializes a 80x25 text console with a low resolution of sth. like 640x480 or
so.
The video kernel command line is said to be the future replacement of vga=
modes by the Xorg development team (vga= is said to be no more compatible with
Xorg`s video mode initialization).
Is it already implemented?
If yes a fallback to a similar Vesa graphics mode with Vesa safe/restore mode
on vt-switch may be an additional opportunity.
occurs with and without kernel modesetting.

Summary: Kwin desktop cube crashes when I press Ctrl+F11
Product: Mesa
Version: git
Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Drivers/Gallium/r600
AssignedTo: dri-devel(a)lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: ryanfarmer(a)gmx.co.uk
When I press Ctrl+F11 to enter the kwin desktop cube, kwin crashes and
immediately recovers giving the information at the bottom of this report.
Also, when I select the option to automatically rotate the cube when dragging a
window to a screen edge, the cube sort of half-rotates and then sticks there.
This has been an issue with recent git versions of Mesa/r600g for probably a
week, I just haven't gotten around to reporting it.
Currently I am using the X/Mesa stack from the Ubuntu Xorg-Edgers PPA on
Kubuntu 11.04 with KDE 4.6.2. I have a custom kernel which is currently based
on Linux 2.6.39-rc5-git2, it has the latest drm-next patches added to it.

Playing enemy territory causes some times system to freeze. Might happen in 30
second or take hours.
I got RS880 and kernel 2.6.39-rc4.
Happens only with mesa commits: 6067a2a67f9a7aab2aee051469bea8af03747a95 and

There is nothing related to freeze in kernel or xorg log.

Summary: r600g performance regression introduced by 467023e8
(Marek Olšák: r600g: use the same upload buffer for
vertices, indices, and constants)
Product: Mesa
Version: git
Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Drivers/Gallium/r600
AssignedTo: dri-devel(a)lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: dawitbro(a)sbcglobal.net
As detailed in Comment 6 of bug 34156, I found this regression in Mesa 7.11-git
while trying to pin down another performance regression a few commits earlier.
I was able to create a local branch where I was able to reverts 4 commits from
a series by Henri Verbeet, which restored performance to the level which
existed before that series was introduced. Performance remained high after the
4 reverts until commit 467023e8 was introduced.
Reverting this commit (in addition to the 4 mentioned in the other bug report:
077c448d, 7687eaba, 1fa95c7f, and a77e813d) restores performance. All further
Mesa commits through the next 10 days (up to the HEAD I have currently, which
is fd8d4b32 of Feb. 18) are working fine.
I am using r600g on 64-bit Linux, with the following hardware + software:
Hardware: Radeon HD 5750 (Evergreen JUNIPER)
Software:
kernel 2.6.37 (+ radeon cherry-picks from drm-fixes)
libdrm 2.4.23
xorg-server 1.9.4
xf86-video-ati 6.14.0
If I can provide any further info/assistance, just let me know.

Performance suddenly improved by 50-150% across the board in late January, so
I've been very happy with Mesa r600g lately! I've been trying to do quick
builds for testing every couple of days when I get home from work, watching out
for any changes in performance.
My last build was at commit 780c183b (Feb. 6), and that was working great.
Tonight's build was at commit 862ebb41, and performance was degraded severely.
For example, the previous build allowed torcs to hit fps in mid 30's,
occasionally hitting up to 60 fps; tonight I'm getting mid 20's, occasionally
hitting 30 fps. Other apps, and even the desktop, are noticeably more
sluggish. (Reinstalling the previous packages restores excellent performance!)
I will try to bisect this, but some home improvement projects will prevent me
from attempting it until tomorrow night at the soonest, and more likely
Saturday morning. Sorry for the delay.
Hardware: Radeon HD 5750 (Evergreen JUNIPER)
Software:
kernel 2.6.37 (+ radeon cherry-picks from drm-fixes)
libdrm 2.4.23
xorg-server 1.9.4
xf86-video-ati 6.14.0

Output of zsnes when OpenGL enabled
zsnes lets you choose resolution and higher resolutions require OpenGL. When
enabled the window changes to the right size and the output completely becomes
garbage. See screenshot.
