--- Comment #7 from Hans Nieser <hans(a)nieser.nl> ---
With kernel 3.6.2 and xorg/mesa/libdrm from git the object selection problem is
no longer occuring on either my 4850 or 5850 radeons with r600g (has probably
been fixed long ago since I've used blender before on occasion without this
issue). Lighting is looking correct as well

Have not been able to reproduce the bug with current setup:
Radeon HD6950
Blender 2.64a-5
xf86-video-ati 1:6.14.6-2
ati-dri 9.0-1

seat 0 config
I'm running a multiseat setup with 2 radeon (ATI3650HD and ATI5450HD) and 1
intel cpus, I'm using libdrm, mesa and xf86-video-ati from git on gentoo.
I'm syncing with the repos every thursday, yesterday I've syned with the repos
and after boot today, all the screens connected to radeon are black.
in the sync last thursday everything worked ok, also when downgrading to
xf86-video-ati-6.14.6, the system works.
when observing the commit logs on xf86-video-ati of this timeframe, the only
commit is enabling 2D tiling.

Summary: Regression running Second Life viewer on r600 (mipmap
generation issue?)
Product: Mesa
Version: git
Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Drivers/DRI/R600
AssignedTo: dri-devel(a)lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: makosoft(a)googlemail.com
There's a regression in recent git master when running the Second Life viewer
on the r600 driver. Objects flash in and out of existence continuously, making
Second Life unusable. git bisect points to the commit
055750fafba58fd2ee0f5611b566a71ab0f22984 "Enable hardware mipmap generation for
radeon" on the 24th of May, which is plausible since Second Life generates all
mipmaps at runtime.
I'm using a 2600XT card, Linux 2.6.34, latest libdrm master, and the latest
unofficial Imprudence client release (since the official client isn't available
in an x86_64 version).

Note: classic r600 driver has been abandoned.
Please use r600g (gallium driver) instead.
Is this still an issue with a newer driver/kernel?
