Bug ID: 93404
Summary: radeon fail when creating a new session with the same
user
Product: DRI
Version: unspecified
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: DRM/Radeon
Assignee: dri-devel(a)lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: bifrost(a)hotmail.it
Using plasma 5, when from the lock screen i try to enter with a "New Session"
and then enter the same user i was logged in, the computer hang and even the
virtual console are inaccessible. Clean shutdown with power button works.
GPU is AMD Radeon R9 M265X Enthusiast Graphics
Log show radeon crash, but is triggered 100% by "New Session"
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. wait for lock screen
2. choose a "New Session"
3. try to log in with the same user already log on (with other account seems
ok)
log from journalctl:

Bug ID: 93270
Summary: Only one of LVDS and VGA-0 work on HP Pavilion m6 with
Radeon HD 7660G
Product: DRI
Version: unspecified
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: DRM/Radeon
Assignee: dri-devel(a)lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: surenkarapetyan(a)gmail.com
When I attach an external monitor to my laptop and put it next to the internal
one using xrandr, the internal monitor goes blank.
If I then disable the external monitor, the internal one starts working.
Sometimes (after a lot of switching), they both go blank. Weren't able to make
them both work at the same time.
Based on the logs, the system thinks that both outputs are working (the screen
size gets increased to fit both monitors, the taskbar remains on the primary
screen even if it is not working).
I'm using the free "radeon" driver. I don't think the version is important,
because I have the same issue with Fedora 20 and Fedora 22.
The system has a second discreet radeon GPU, but I don't use it.
00:01.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
[AMD/ATI] Trinity [Radeon HD 7660G] [1002:9900]

[AMD/ATI] Thames [Radeon HD 7500M/7600M Series] [1002:6840] (rev ff)
And from xrandr output it looks like all outputs are connected to the default
integrated GPU:

Summary: Sometimes External Monitor stays black after resuming

Sometimes my external monitor (Acer X223W) stays black (powersave mode) when
resuming from suspend. I'm using a HP ProBook 6465b (Llano/Sumo, AMD A6-APU,
Radeon HD6520G). The Monitor is connected to the DVI port of my HP docking
station (P/N: VB044AV).
My Desktop Environment (GNOME 3) still thinks it's connected, so some windows
aren't visible anymore.
Workarounds:
- Press WIN+P to disable the second monitor and use the Laptop screen only
- Power off the external monitor and then switch it on again. It then starts to
work again.

dmesg log
This crash (please look into attached dmesg) happen hot every time when I open
context menu in Steam, but could happen like two times per evening. Since I
notice this crash lately, this is probably related to some latest changes in
Linux 4.2, but I could be wrong here. On Linux 4.3 this crash is also
reproducible.
This issue seems like related to DRI_PRIME usage (at least I was unable to
easily reproduce this if Steam launched without DRI_PRIME) or maybe to
particular GPU model (integrated is 6620G, discrete 6650M).
DRI3 and GLAMOR is used, that also may be related.

Dear Devs,
ive got this really annoying issue with multiple boards:
- ASRock FM2A75 Pro4
- ASRock A88M-HD+
- ASUS A78M-E
The simptome is the same in every board, but just with A8-7800K Trinity(ARUBA).
I've also tested with A10-7700K Kaveri(GCN1.1), but there was no problems at
all. So I put the PC to S3 sleep, than wake it up. The monitor which uses DVI
connector, works perfectly, but the HDMI one is mostly black, stays at sleep,
doesnt displays information(out of range, etc), but sometimes a really
flickering screen comes in for a few momements than disappears.
I hope its still a non-listed bug, I've checked multiple reports, but doesnt
find thisone. Look at the attachments, dmesg log added.
Thanks

Hi!
Since I've installed Fedora 22 (3 months ago), I've got this yellow/blue line
of noise on the right side of my display. This bug arrives mostly when resuming
a session (for instance if I went AFK for an hour, got back and move the
mouse). When I take a screenshot, the problem doesn't appear, but here is a
photo taken with my cellphone:
https://framapic.org/36HIBwrfnlN6/4T82xzGW
I'd say that 90% of the times I "wake up" my machine, I've got this bug. I
didn't have that on Manjaro before.
I have a Radeon HD 6870 with a BenQ GW2765 display (2560x1440), running the
open source drivers, of course.
I don't know what log file to give that would be interesting for you. But
please ask if you need one.
Cheers!

Kernel logs from running both test at the same time and from running the second
test only..
Built-in tests are enabled by the module "option radeon test=3". The integer
value bits are used as flags what test to run on the module load.
Running both test takes about 1-2 minutes to complete. The first one turns off
the display and trashes the system in a way that the first key pressed hangs it
hard - no flashing LEDs, no Magic SysRq.
---
The first test moves data from system ram to video ram and back.
It runs for about a minute. During that time the monitor is turning off and on
again (DELLs do that if DPMS signaling is not exactly right, its on DVI port).
The rest of the system seems to function. Boot loading seams to finish and
sometimes I can salvage complete kernel message log. Pressing CapsLock turns on
its LED, but second press have no effect. Even pressing Magic SysRq first
doesn't provide any control of the system. It hangs hard and only reset helps.
The seconds test is about syncing between GPU rings.
It seems to finish without error if run after the first one.
However if I run it alone with "test=2", I get a bunch of timeouts, "GPU
lockup" and other errors. When run alone the test doesn't prevent setting of
working graphic mode.
My videocard is Radeon HD5670 (Redwood).
I have confirmation that the same happens on Tahiti chipsets.
