It has 2 DVI outputs, and 1 mini HDMI output. The DVI outputs are numbered on the card, with DVI 1 being the closest to the PCIe slot, then DVI 2, and finally the mini HDMI. My primary (left) monitor, is connected to DVI 1, my secondary (right) monitor to DVI 2. When I boot the computer, the BIOS initializes and uses the monitor on DVI 1. Grub is displayed on the primary monitor, and the kernel initially outputs to the primary monitor as well. However, as soon as the nouveau module is loaded, the primary monitor goes to standby and the kernel now uses the secondary monitor (on DVI 2) as primary. When X starts (no Xorg.conf file), it is also displayed on the secondary monitor. When using either efifb, vesafb or uvesafb, the monitor on DVI 1 is always the primary monitor. X with nvidia.ko also uses DVI 1 as the primary display. Finally, when booting Windows, the startup screen is also displayed on the monitor connected to DVI 1. Here comes the weird part: when I am in X, and run xrandr, it does show 3 connected devices: DVI-I-1, DVI-I-2, and HDMI-1, with DVI-I-2 being the only active one. So it seems that in X, the output order is correct, but with nouveaufb the DVI connectors are swapped. I will attach the output of dmesg here. [PATCH] Revert "video: fbdev: amba-clcd: Retire elder CLCD driver"

Also revert the follow-up change "drm: pl111: Absorb the external register header". This reverts commits 7e4e589db76a3cf4c1f534eb5a09cc6422766b93 and 0fb8125635e8eb5483fb095f98dcf0651206a7b8. The fbdev driver is used by Android's FVP configuration. Using the DRM driver together with DRM's fbdev emulation results in a failure to boot Android. The root cause is that Android's generic fbdev userspace driver relies on the ability to set the pixel format via FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO, which is not supported by fbdev emulation. There have been other less critical behavioral differences identified between the fbdev driver and the DRM driver with fbdev emulation. The DRM driver exposes different values for the panel's width, height and refresh rate, and the DRM driver fails a FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO syscall with yres_virtual greater than the maximum supported value instead of letting the syscall succeed and setting yres_virtual based on yres. [PATCH 0/2] drm/msm: Smooth out ringbuffer-full handling

From: Rob Clark <robdclark(a)chromium.org> With some recent userspace work to allow more rendering to be merged into a single SUBMIT ioctl, I realized we have some sharp edges around running out of free ringbuffer space. 1) Currently we only flush once all the cmds (or rather IBs to the cmd buffer) are written into the ringbuffer. Which places a restriction that the submit must fit in the rb. Which means slightly less than 2k cmds per submit, after accounting for some of the other packets needed. 2) Currently, for devices that use RPTR shadow, we only write the CP_WHERE_AM_I packet at the end of the submit, so we aren't seeing partial progress that the GPU is making chewing through previous large submits 3) We spin for up to 1sec waiting for rb space, and then give up and proceed to overwrite the packets that that CP is currently chewing on.. which goes badly. If userspace is submitting >1sec of work per submit ioctl, this means we spin for a long time, and then corrupt the rb anyways. This patchset doesn't completely address #1. And in general we don't want to be uninteruptably blocking for so much time.. but this will require some more extensive changes. What it does do is address #2 by periodically emitting a CP_WHERE_AM_I, and #3 by adding detection and error handling for rb overflow, returning -ENOSPC when that happens. Value of "0" in "/sys/class/backlight/amdgpu_bl0/brightness" currently doesn't disable backlight as in previous version. Value of "1" means the screen is dim, but not as much as in kernel 4.20. Sometimes the screen is still too bright even on level 0 in kernel 5.0.
