Comment # 11 on bug 65730 from Igor

Well, I'm able to hear sound in Chromium and Firefox in youtube. However, I
cannot hear any sound when I'm issuing
aplay -D plughw:1,3 /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav
I cannot hear sound in KDE apps as well (kde sound test, vlc, mplayer).

I was able to hear "Center" when I tried switching to fglrx. Not sure if this
is related to opensource driver or not.
