I seem to have a similar problem. Laptop working fine under fedora 26; since
ungraded to fedora 27 a few days ago; when the screen sleeps, it won't wake.

For other reasons I am still using the fedora 26 kernel (4.12.x) - so the
problem seems to be entirely due to changes in userland, or at least, outside
the kernel, in libdrm or x driver.

Am running gnome classic in x11 if that matters.
