I also doubt that's the problem because

# echo high > power_dpm_force_performance_level

gives

bash: echo: write error: Invalid argument

with 2 monitors attached and works fine with 1 monitor.

Maybe a weird bug in the bios? But the card works fine with catalyst in windows.
