Neither that deathsimple xbmc-test branch nor the xbmc-nightly ppa have had any updates since I ran that test. (That "Rainer's amd branch" referred to is the xbmc-nightly ppa, which is still showing the same version as the one I tested then.)
Reminder: It cured the second or so of full-screen glitch at the start of playback, but not the ongoing loopiness.
