There's lots of ongoing discussions about standardizing properties a bit better. Especially about plane Z ordering and blending modes. I think it'd be good to hold off on this a bit and participate in the larger discussion about a spec for plane properties until things settle. Especially for a new driver.
I guess for now you could just hardcode Z order how you register the planes. -Daniel
