This needs a rebase on the etnaviv for 4.11 pull, that removes the hack mentioned in the comment above. Otherwise the code change looks fine.
Is that pull request already on the list and/or in drm-next? Chris' patch fell a bit through the cracks, but since it's fairly big I'd like to get it into 4.11 still if possible, instead of keeping it in drm-misc for a few weeks to route around the merge window blackout ...
Otherwise I guess 4.12 it is, but I'll still push it into drm-misc-next next week if possible (we have drm-misc-next-fixes for bugfixes for the merge window, to be able to keep merging feature work). -Daniel
