--- Comment #6 from JerryD jvdelisle@charter.net --- I used grubby to add to my kernel boot command 'idle=nomwait' and the problem seems resolved. The mwait instruction is known to possibly hang threads on some earlier released ryzen chips as documented in the AMD Errata.
