It is my first bug report and i hope is good enough. After update mesa and driver from arch test repro, x freeze during start.

--- Comment #2 from Alex Deucher agd5f@yahoo.com --- Acceleration is disabled by default on the r9 290 at the moment due to stability issues. Did you explicitly enable acceleration in your xorg.conf? Was it actually working previously or was acceleration just disabled?

Downgrading to mesa 10.3 fixed the freeze.
