Priority: medium Bug ID: 79100 Assignee: dri-devel@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: r600 context creation failure on kaveri Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux (All) Reporter: joshua.r.marshall.1991@gmail.com Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) Status: NEW Version: 10.1 Component: Drivers/Gallium/r600 Product: Mesa
Created attachment 99606 --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=99606&action=edit Xorg log
EE r600_pipe.c:258 r600_create_context - Unsupported chip class 9.
When some lower level operation is performed (I have no idea what) X quits because of something driver side.
This often occurs with flash player, and always when calling the Mathematica function Plot3D.
I have attatched gratuitous system information.

--- Comment #7 from Alex Deucher agd5f@yahoo.com --- kaveri is supported by the radeonsi driver, not r600. Make sure you don't have the VDPAU_DRIVER=r600 set as an env var. You don't need to set that env var. The correct driver will automatically loaded automatically.

--- Comment #8 from joshua.r.marshall.1991@gmail.com --- Graphics are happy, but not there appears to be a new problem -- my ethernet port went down as a result. The reason you are reading this is because I have a backup card.
I'm going to reboot and see if this persists. If so, who/where might I go who has the expertise to look at this?

Probably a configuration or desktop environment problem. Try your distro or desktop environment (gnome/kde/etc.) channels.

--- Comment #10 from joshua.r.marshall.1991@gmail.com --- There's likely a small bug in that I needed to reboot to reset devicemapping, but all seems well now. I'm marking the bug as fixed. Thanks for your poignant observation.
