Hi, with 2.6.36-rc7|drm-radeon-testing and latest graphic stack snapshot kwin's 4.5.2 blur effect does not work. I have an HD3870, but someone else told me it works with RV710 (http://www.phoronix.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26221).

I attached a screenshot.

What is more suprising, that I've seen exactly the same behavior on my friends computer who has nouveau gallium driver. Maybe FOSS drivers have not yet implemented some OpenGL functionality, i.e. insufficient GLSL support.

For the record, with blur correctly working it should look like this: http://www.notmart.org/index.php/Software/Small_goodies

Somebody observed that blur effect is broken by the new glsl compiler, so this is not R600 bug.

RV670 with R600g, 2.6.38-rc4, xorg-server-1.9.4, mesa git, libdrm git, xf86-video-ati git, pageflipping on, colortiling on, swapbufferwaits off.

It does work with R600g and kwin 4.6.

RV670 with R600g, 2.6.38-rc4, xorg-server-1.9.4, mesa git, libdrm git, xf86-video-ati git, pageflipping on, colortiling on, swapbufferwaits off.
