Bug ID: 206725 Summary: [REGRESSION] AMDGPU Severe artifact/tearing on 5700xt Product: Drivers Version: 2.5 Kernel Version: 5.6.0-rc1 to 5.6.0-rc3 Hardware: All OS: Linux Tree: Mainline Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P1 Component: Video(DRI - non Intel) Assignee: drivers_video-dri@kernel-bugs.osdl.org Reporter: mombelli.mauro@gmail.com Regression: No
Since mainline 5.6.x I am having artifact like tearing and black frame (?) on my desktop, even with normal usage like scrolling files or watching video. They appear ever 5-10 minutes; interestingly they don't appear while in game.
Switching back to stable 5.5.6 solve all issues

--- Comment #1 from Alex Deucher (alexdeucher@gmail.com) --- Please attach your xorg log (if using X) and dmesg output. Also, can you bisect?

--- Comment #3 from mombelli.mauro@gmail.com --- I updated to 5.6.0-rc4-1-mainline, the problem persist. Also while running stable, seems like the issue is still present, just much less pronounced.
I notice sometimes is like a black line on screen.
I could bisect but maybe I should find a stable version, or maybe is related to the desktop environment. As I use kde, should i maybe check if it happen with gnome too?
