Bug #: 44695
Summary: Rendering glitch in ShaderToy Monjori demo with Mesa
7.11 Gallium 0.4 AMD RV710
Classification: Unclassified
Product: Mesa
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Drivers/Gallium/r600
AssignedTo: dri-devel(a)lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: bjacob(a)mozilla.com
My setup: Ubuntu 11.10 x86_64, Mesa 7.11, Gallium 0.4 on AMD RV710.
Steps to reproduce: in Firefox (I'm on Firefox 12 / Nightly but that shouldn't
matter):
1. Go to this URL:
http://www.iquilezles.org/apps/shadertoy/
2. in the 'Presets' drop-down, select Monjori
3. click 'Load'
Expected result: purple-colored glittery wobbly surface should fill the whole
canvas
Actual result: the purple-colored stuff is only painted in the lower-left
corner of the canvas, the rest of the canvas stays black.

On a x86-64 host with a HD3870 running 2.6.39-2-generic (from ubuntu's oneiric)
and
libdrm-2.4.25 and mesa compiled for 32bit:
OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on AMD RV670
OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 7.11-devel (git-390196e)
I get lightning artifacts with r600g on a couple of games from frozenbyte.com,
most notably when using the flashlight in shadowgrounds.
Here's a apitrace capture:
http://static.hackmii.com/dhewg/shadowgrounds.apitrace.xz
When replaying it via glretrace there're some weird window resizes, but the
issue is visible when it doesn't crash :)
The issue does not exist with swrast.

I use the ppa xorg-edgers to provide the latest mesa developpment on my
computer: Ubuntu 12.10 64 bits because the version present in the software
center is too old to run "recent" games and the fglrx-legacy doesn't work: my
graphic card is (return of command lspci | grep VGA): 01:05.0 VGA compatible
controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI RS880M [Mobility Radeon HD
4200 Series
Since some weeks I try to play at Urban Terror but here it doesn't work
properly: after few 10 minutes, the screen freezes and I got the following
message loop in a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+F1): "radeon 0000:01:05.0: GPU lockup CP
stall for more than 1000msec" and that's all, I must reboot my computer (main
screen freezes). I precise it's the only game that produce this bug...

I use kubuntu 11.10 with libtxc-dxtn (without it game not run) deb from xorg
edgers ppa.
My hardware: core quad Q6600, 8Gb memory, amd radeon 5850
With start of game the fps is above 30. After hour of game fps down to 10. That
may be cured by changing, for example, vertical sync in game settings, but
after hour of game fps down to 10 again.
With proprietary drivers on the same configuration all is ok.
Excuse me for my english.

I am running Ubuntu 11.10 64 bit with gnome shell 3,2 on a Intel i7-940XM with
an ATI Radeon HD 5850M. The drivers which are currently being used are the open
source drivers (xf86-video-ati 6.14.99).
I am experiencing random (on save, on dialog open, on workspace switch) hard
lockups (CTRL + ALT + F1 doesnt work, nor does ALT+PrntScrn R S E I U B). This
only happens when using two screens (independent of which output (e.g.
Displayport + VGA, Displayport + Notebook LCD) are used).
This issue is a complete show stopper since the pc requires a hard reboot and
any unsaved items are lost indefinitely (or worse, things might get corrupted).
I am attaching the last 3000 lines of .xsession-errors.
